Athletes Reach For The World

Less Than a Week 'til the Games!

Poopsie's thought this was pretty cool and wanted to share it with all of you! Go team USA!
In February, a group of seven athletes will compete at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Idaho (February 7-13) as part of Team U.S.A. They all had won gold medals previously at the State Winter Games in Galena. The athletes appreciated all the support they received from the greater Galena community and wonderful volunteers and fans they met here.

You can follow the progress of Team U.S.A. on the website http://www.specialolympicsteamusa.org/. Below is the list of those who are part of the Illinois delegation – including Coach Dean Wilson of Galena and former Jo Daviess Workshop staffer Maggie Dittburner!

You can help encourage more athletes in this state with intellectual disabilities to reach for the world by supporting Special Olympics Illinois!
